Annie’s Cape Malay rewrite: Annie was born in the Democratic Republic of Congo but now resides in Cape Town. Her career as a chef started in 2008 at the Noon Gun restaurant in Bo-Kaap, where she was first exposed to the diverse flavours of Cape Malay cooking.

She has worked at multiple smaller Malay restaurants, as well as The Waterfront branch of Malissa’s, and has received accolades for her abilities. She has now accumulated 12 years of kitchen experience. She started her small independent business of cooking Malay food at the Neighbourgood’s Market ay the Old Biscuit Mill in 2018 and has a devoted loyal following.
