SoJo

SoJo is a Cape Town based community project and children’s brand which through small endeavours enables women to work from home and put food on the table. SoJo focuses on creating employment for women living in townships such as Langa, Bontehuiwel, and Manenberg. These women thrived during Cape Town’s historic textile industry until the emergence of cheaper imports.

To preserve their skill and to enable women to feed their families, Jackie Kilcullen founded SoJo in 2010 to produce quality children’s clothing and handmade toys.

At the beginning of the severe lockdown in South Africa in late March, the women sewers quickly adapted again and pivoted to making face masks for adults and children. We look forward to sharing our products with you at the market.
