Fudge Kitchen

“Since we started our expert team of passionate fudge experts have been carefully handpicked, handcrafting the most deliciously creamy and indulgent fudge to a recipe that dates back to the 1830s. A visit to The Fudge Kitchen’s outlets is a sensual experience from the moment you are welcomed by the waft of warm fudge and the pavement banter of our hugely entertaining, sample-wielding, boater-sporting staff.

Throughout, our team explain the process, the history of fudge making, and offer free samples aplenty. Buying the still warm fudge at the end, beautifully packaged, is a bonus! We are firstly specialists. No one in SA makes fudge using an original 1830’s recipe and traditional production methods, together with new age artisanal techniques.

Inside our factory a traditional copper pot bubbles aromatically with hot fudge, before being poured onto long marble slabs and ‘creamed’ with vast spatulas, turning flourishes of cooling fudge in the air, breaking up any granulation and ensuring the supreme creaminess that The Fudge Kitchen is famed for.

We take considerable pride and care in producing ‘The Grandest Fudge In The World!’ which is why all of our flavours are made with the finest natural ingredients and no preservatives. We are well known for the quality of our fudges, the authenticity of our product and techniques, the innovation of our fudge (with new, unique, and preservative-free flavours developed daily) but predominantly, our staff.

Fudge Kitchen staff are a maverick bunch; entertainers as much as they are true confectionery geniuses (for making fudge is a complex, involved, and difficult skill). They are fascinatingly knowledgeable in the art of, the history of, and the science of fudge making, genuinely passionate about fudge, making every visit an entertaining, memorable experience.“
