Mother Shucker Oysters
"Mother Shucker Oysters was born out of my love for old trades, as well as out of my love for oysters! My dream was always to have a little oyster bar, so in 2006 when I heard of a food market opening in Woodstock, I jumped at the chance to make my dream come true.
My oysters come directly from the farm in Saldanha Bay, where the water is incredibly nutrient-dense, resulting in a high quality, delicious product. They are as fresh as it gets, from ‘Tide to Table’.
I love shucking oysters and take great pride in what I’m doing. It brings me joy to have customers who love oysters as much as I do. A big part of my ‘job satisfaction’ is having customers local and international come back to visit my stall year after year I have regulars from Dublin, San Francisco, Berlin, Oslo, Harare, Paris, and Durban to mention a few."
